Stuart Proposch

Stuart graduated from Monash University with an honours degree in Law and an Arts degree majoring in ancient history. He has gained experience working in fields of public and administrative law, personal injury and commercial litigation.

While at university, Stuart participated in several competitive mooting competitions and in 2015 won the Sir Charles Lowe Moot Prize for Best Senior Advocate. Prior to joining William Roberts Lawyers, Stuart gained experience as a paralegal in a government and administrative law team and as a law clerk in the personal injury field. He completed his PLT at Leo Cussen Centre for Law and was admitted to practice in April 2018.

Stuart’s main area of practice is within the insurance team, primarily involving motor vehicle insurance claims, and deals with questions both of quantum and liability. His recent experience includes:

  • providing advice in subrogated claims for both settlement and recovery matters;
  • briefing and instructing counsel on defended matters;
  • negotiating settlements on behalf of institutional clients;
  • appearances at the Magistrates’ Court; and
  • assisting senior lawyers on complex class action matters.
