Jason is a part of the Sydney Insurance team. Prior to entering the Legal profession, Jason worked in the automotive sector for 36 years for various dealers across the UK and Australia, this experience has been key in honing his negotiation skills and his passion for all things legal.
Jason predominantly focuses on insurance litigation, automotive industry disputes, Australian Consumer Law and commercial litigation.
Jason has represented blue chip automotive manufacturers, a property development company, high net worth individuals as well private individuals.
Jason also has experience in commercial leasing, property disputes, contested probate matters, estate litigation, conveyancing and mediation.
Who I work with and what I do
Jason has provided advice on consumer guarantees (to both manufacturers and individuals) and has been successful in defending and contesting matters in the following areas of the Australian Consumer Law.
For Products:
- Acceptable quality
- Fit for purpose
- Major/minor defects
For Services:
- Due Care and Skill
- Repairs to be completed in a reasonable timeframe
Amongst other things, Jason has also provided the following advice:
- overturned an administrative decision to cancel an examiners licence.
- was successful in the removal of a caveat that was lodged with no legal or equitable interest.
- successfully defended AVO matters.
- participated in Court ordered mediation in a contested probate matter.
- advised multiple clients on land and property build contracts in NSW.
His experience includes matters before the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Local Court and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
Jason also serves on the Resolution Institute Complaints Committee and is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
What I like to do
Outside of work, Jason loves to spend time with family. Is a passionate EPL fan and supports his beloved Arsenal. He used to scuba dive regularly and has dived in Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, Europe and of course Queensland.
