I am an Accredited Specialist (Commercial Litigation) who has led the prosecution of several large commercial class actions. I am also experienced in building and construction, and insurance litigation.
Who I work with and what I do
I work with a highly talented team that specialises in commercial litigation with a focus on class actions.
My experience includes:
- Acting in class actions such as:
- those against Suncorp (financial services/superannuation), IG Markets (financial products), Gladstone Ports Corporation (environmental contamination) and two Combustible Cladding Class actions (product liability)
- various shareholder class actions including those against Mesoblast, Estia Health, Sims Metal and Ashley Services; and
- professional negligence class actions.
- Advising and acting for various litigation funders and their association as to prospects of potential class actions, settlement approval applications and issues of importance to the litigation funding industry (including in the High Court of Australia).
- Advising group members in class actions as to their rights and obligations under funding agreements.
- Acting for builders, developers and owners in building and construction disputes in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Court of Appeal.
- Acting for contractors on disputes arising from major construction projects, such as the Gold Coast desalination project and the Wollar to Wellington transmission line project.
- Acting for high profile individuals defending complex Supreme Court proceedings involving alleged breaches of directors’ and officers’ duties and alleged misleading and deceptive conduct.
- Acting on major insurance fraud matters.
- Advising on disputes arising from commercial and property transactions.
Where I studied
I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance double major) in 2007. I later obtained my Master of Laws degree from the same university.
What I like to do
I like listening to podcasts and audio books from the leading minds in leadership, technology, artificial intelligence, psychology and biology. I like listening because I can learn while driving, exercising or doing housework.
I am also fluent in Mandarin.
