Christopher Johannes

I was admitted as a lawyer in August 2018 and have experience in representing major Australian insurers on litigious and advisory matters. Since joining William Roberts Lawyers , I have conducted a range of general insurance and commercial disputes, including matters arising in the small claims and general division of the Local Court of New South Wales, the Supreme Court of New South Wales, New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and the Australian Capital Territory Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Who I work with and what I do

My main practice includes providing advice to insurer clients on complex indemnity, liability, and quantum disputes, and advice to commercial clients on contractual, product defect, and professional liability disputes.

I regularly appear on substantive hearings in the small claims division of the Local Court and appear in interlocutory hearings in the general division of the Local Court and the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

While my focus is on commercial and insurance litigation, my exposure also extends to cyber security and privacy, class actions and disputes in succession law.

Where I studied

I have a Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of New South Wales.

What I like to do

I am fascinated by all things marine, I enjoy fishing and spearfishing in Sydney’s beaches on weekends. am also a keen snowboarder and spend much of my off time on the slopes.
