Saša Zekanović

Saša graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business with Distinction.

In 2018, he undertook a student exchange program in Uppsala, Sweden, studying World Trade Law and European Union Criminal Law. In April 2016, Saša was awarded the Sir Owen Dixon Chambers Prize for Academic Excellence. Saša was also the Legal Research Assistant for Associate Professor Penny Crofts. Saša was admitted to practice in 2019 and now practices in commercial law; debt recovery, bankruptcy and insolvency.  Sasa’s professional experience includes:

  • Drafting and issuing letters of demand in relation to contraventions of the Corporations Act in matters relating to insolvent trading claims, unlawful director related transactions and uncommercial transactions;
  • Defended debt proceedings;
  • Providing general commercial litigation advice in relation to potential recovery actions and likelihood of success;
  • Engaging in client meetings, discussing funding opportunities and potential claims;
  • Engaging in pre-litigation negotiations;
  • Preparing, reviewing and providing advice on evidence
  • Attending directions hearings, pre-trial hearings and status conferences;
  • Acting for the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation in both State and Federal Courts
