I lead the William Roberts’ Melbourne office. I regularly advise on matters in:
- Building & construction litigation - particularly home warranty insurance (claims and recoveries), contract works insurance (claims and recoveries) and large defect litigation;
- Simple and complex property damage claims and recoveries;
- Life Insurance;
- Dual insurance;
- Subrogated recoveries, including claims against developers, engineers, architects and certifiers;
- Indemnity disputes;
- Recoveries under deeds of indemnity and guarantees;
- Policy coverage and construction;
- Mortgage recoveries; and
- A vast array of general commercial litigation.
Who I work with and what I do
I enjoy transparently and collaboratively working with insurer and corporate clients to bring a savvy, pro-active approach to litigation focusing on early resolution and commercial outcomes. I have extensive experience in dispute resolution, having appeared in many mediations, pre-hearing conferences, conciliations, compulsory conferences and other alternate dispute resolution mechanisms.
I have presented a number of papers to insurers and self-insurers and run training seminars, addressing insurance law and building & construction law topics.
Where I studied
I have a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Media from the Macquarie University.
What I like to do
I enjoy spending my spare time with my wife and our bulldog Ruby, and the occasional glass of whisky.
