William Roberts would like to congratulate our client, Deputy
Commissioner Nick Kaldas who has accepted a position with the United Nations
after an illustrious career with the NSW Police Force.
Nick Kaldas has had a formidable 34 year career with the police
force, working in nearly every branch of the State Crime Command as a detective
or a commander. Ten of these years were spent with the Homicide Squad, four
years heading up the department. Mr Kaldas was involved in forming the Joint
Counter Terrorism Squad and is an advocate for working with multicultural
communities.
Mr Kaldas has previously advised and worked actively overseas,
spending eight months in Iraq training local police and also being seconded to
the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, helping to catch Lebanon’s prime minister
Rafic Hariri’s alleged assassins.
We wish Mr Kaldas the very best in his new role at the United
Nations.
