Anthony Mangafas

Anthony’s focus is on insurance law. Throughout his career, Anthony’s practice included litigation, dispute resolution and advice work as to claims and coverage in a range of insurance areas including professional negligence, financial lines, directors' and officers’ liability, public liability, product liability, industrial special risks, building and construction, machinery breakdown, business interruption, heavy and private motor, home and contents, property, life insurance and fraud.

Anthony’s litigation experience includes complex recovery and defended matters, with values ranging from thousands to tens of millions of dollars. Anthony has acted for clients in proceedings litigated in courts and tribunals across all Australian states and territories, making him a seasoned litigator across multiple jurisdictions.

As an insurance lawyer, Anthony has represented global and local insurers, underwriting agencies, brokers, and various insureds including solicitors, law firms, doctors, hospitals, medical clinics, accountants, financial advisers, financial institutions, real estate agents, farmers, agronomists, builders, building and construction entities, manufacturers, heavy vehicle drivers, transportation and logistics companies, sporting associations, directors and officers, thoroughbred horse studs, pest inspectors, property owners, tenants and schools.

Anthony prides himself on providing thorough, timely, plain English legal advice to clients with results that marry with his clients’ commercial objectives. He is skilled in developing and implementing strategies to deliver those results. He pursues alternative dispute resolution wherever appropriate.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Anthony was employed for several years in the financial sector.

Anthony is fluent in Greek, is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, the Australian Insurance Law Association, the Australian Life Underwriting and Claims Association, the NSW Claims Discussion Group Inc. and Young Insurance Professionals.
